There are some critical issues facing employers as we move into 2011. Looking at a recent roundup of whitepapers and published reports from Forrester, IDC, and Gartner, the consensus is there is a considerable gap in the talent management process between the forecast of supply and demand. Companies have to get better at:
What innovative solutions are being introduced to help solve these challenges? Last week, nearly 20 companies (including Monster) flexed their technology muscles, descending upon Las Vegas for the first-ever HR Demo Show, organized by technology columnist John Sumser and the folks at HRO Today Magazine. Anyone familiar with the live Demo format, first introduced by Chris Shipley, recognized the intended format of HR Demo featuring one-hour spotlights of talent management technology products and software applications presented to an anticipated audience of more than 300 analysts, bloggers, and technology buyers.
The HR Demo Blog Squad has provided a recap of the event highs and lows, and hits and misses among the various technologies unveiled. For a deeper look, check out posts from Sarah White, Kevin Grossman, Craig Fisher , Laurie Ruettimann and Geoff Webb. And for a look at how the event resonated with the Twitter audience, check out the analysis chart from Geoff Webb.
So what did Monster “demo” and how did analysts respond? On day two of The HR Demo Show, Monster’s Executive Vice President, Global CIO and Head of Product Darko Dejanovic took to the HR Demo stage to introduce the audience to the world’s first semantic search platform, bringing effortless search, trend and source analysis, side-by-side comparisons, scalability, and much more to employers’ talent pools. The 6Sense Enterprise Suite gives employers complete visibility into applicants, candidates, employees, and even resumes from social networks and other sources, while enjoying the freedom of on-demand access into their talent infrastructure.
Monster also had the opportunity to brief analysts and industry thought-leaders attending the HR Demo Show including Kevin Martin, Vice President and Group Director of the Aberdeen Group, John Sumser, technology columnist and Conference Chairman of the HR Demo Show, and industry analyst Dr. Katherine Jones, with VitalAnalysis.
John Sumser, who has been following the evolution of Monster since before it was called Monster – and is still holding out on a full review of the 6Sense Enterprise Suite until he sees it fully in action – remarked: “You’ve made a leap into a world that is unimaginable and if you’re (Monster) doing what you say you’re doing with this technology, it’s an astounding accomplishment. The ability to look at potential, current and future talent puts Monster in more of a strategic services role and that’s a very interesting concept to me.”
Aberdeen’s Kevin Martin, like Sumser, immediately grasped the value of what the 6Sense Enterprise Suite can bring to both the pre and post hire process. “Our recent research indicates performance management is a large void in most organizations. Giving organizations the ability to look at core competencies and identify gaps between performance and skills can provide a huge value.”
Dr. Katherine Jones, who received a verbal walk-through of the 6Sense Enterprise Suite during the HR Technology conference in September, witnessed the live Demo at the HR Demo Show last week stating, “I am very impressed with the possibilities of where this technology can go and I can’t wait to hear more.”
For more on what customers are saying about the power of the 6Sense technology driven product suite, here’s a recent quote featured in our HR Demo presentation, from Mr. Phil Powell, employment specialist with Express Employment Professionals, a leader in employment services and the largest privately held staffing company in the nation, employing over 300,000 people a year:
“We started using Monster Power Resume Search (PRS) and had immediate success finding the candidates we needed for a Quality Control position – within the first week of use. I believe Monster Power Resume Search saves us time and has helped us find quality candidates for our IT, accounting and skilled professional positions. If we need to look for IT, accounting, administrative or skilled professional positions we go to Monster’s PRS first.”
