It would be tempting to segue from Harry Potter right to the next summer blockbuster – Captain America – and the title character’s relentless struggle to find truth, justice, and….well, whatever it was that Captain America was searching for. Perhaps many recruiters feel similar to the ol’ Captain, that candidates who match specific and in-demand skill sets are about as elusive as the classic movie villain.
Well, we here at Monster are very much inspired by the releases of our own one-two punches of recruiting power: first, the recent launch of BeKnown, and yesterday’s launch of SeeMore.
Whereas BeKnown is designed to empower candidates in their quest to build a powerful professional network within the world’s largest social network, SeeMore is designed to empower recruiters and HR professionals as they search for the perfect candidates.
As John Zappe of ERE.net writes about the newest weapon in Monster’s arsenal:
“SeeMore applies the 6Sense search power to candidate databases stored in the cloud, producing a ranked list of qualified prospects… That brief description, however, hardly does it justice. More broadly, SeeMore makes sense of the thousands of resumes that lurk in every ATS.”
At last, the kind of x-ray vision into candidates’ true abilities that HR professionals have always craved, one that will let them cut costs by drastically reducing the amount of time they spend sorting through resumes. Basically, in classic comic book parlance, it’s “Ka-BOOM” meets “cha-ching!”
And to guide you on your quest for truth, justice, and appropriate candidates (or at least through what is most likely an atrociously hot weekend), here’s five articles to empower you as you fight the good fight:
5. R.J. Morris swings the Fistful of Talent in our general direction, and gives us a succinct overview of what separates good recruiters from bad (not to mention Jedi mind tricks).
4. HR Examiner gives us the reason behind the rankings, and looks at how online klout is measured in its Top 25 HR Digital Influencers v4 list.
3. Michael Long goes crowd-sourcing for career advice and finds some key takeaways in this post from The Red Recruiter.
2. Shauna Moerke takes a heartfelt look and offers a unique HR professional’s perspective as she asks “What’s Wrong With America?”
1. And good articles always finish last…or first…or anywhere in this list, really, and today is no exception, with Felix Wetzel’s “The Future Series: The Future of Recruiting.”
So we at Monster hope you stay cool and collected in your various quests, wherever you are. And all of this makes us in recruiting and HR wonder: what kind of health plan did the Justice League have?
