Jean Christenson, HRIT director for CH2M HILL, says first impressions are critical to the candidate experience. “It’s like when you meet a person for the first time, right? That … initial impression, it means everything.”
A visit to an online HR portal is often the first glimpse most candidates will get of a company, and Christenson says that initial experience with the company needs to be the best one. “That’s their first time meeting us,” she says. “It is vitally important that it’s the best [experience] they get, because it represents who we are.”
She’s proud of all interactions that candidates have with her company’s recruitment process, and she says that the best part of her candidates’ experience is mutual reaching out, working with and getting to know each other.
