Janet Swaysland

Janet jumped from the consulting world into the corporate front lines when she joined Monster as head of global communications and social media. Here she’s building what she says is the best team in the business, focused on Monster storytelling, content production, news pipeline, engagement strategy, conversation monitoring… you get the picture. Before Monster Janet was a founding partner at Beeline Labs, a consulting group that helps clients sort out how to change their communication and business practices to succeed in a socially-driven age. And before Beeline Labs, she held consulting and operational leadership roles at integrated communications agencies Arnold, Mullen, and Brodeur. She has a degree in education from Wake Forest University and lives in Marblehead, MA.

Rebels at Work: Motivated to Make A Difference

Jobs, the economy, and change make the headlines every day. Whether you call it The Great Disruption or The Big Shift, the flow of opportunities and changes in our global economy is forcing companies and individuals to spot opportunities faster and adapt to trends more quickly than they ever have in their lifetimes. Talent Acquisition: The Myths and Power of Social Media

Social recruiting is just like social for any other part of the business: everyone is learning as they go. DailyFeats: How Social Media For Social Good Helps Your Job Search and Career(!)

MonsterThinking: Top 10 Posts of 2010

What’s interesting about compiling these “Tops of the Year” posts is first deciding what criteria, exactly, it takes to get to the “top” – most views, most comments, most retweets? We decided not to obsess, and our MonsterThinking Top 10 list is based on a unscientific mash-up of all the “mosts” and by what we found surprising, or just plain fun. Enjoy, and here’s to a thought-provoking 2011 for us all.
