What HR Wants To Know About Social Media Actually CAN Hurt Them

I get it. I understand that I’m a full-time resident of the social media echo chamber and I also realize that I spend much of my time on social networks interacting with a relatively small group of people who “get it” – or who are at least making some valiant attempts at trying to figure things out.

Breaking News: #SHRM10 Keynote Adds “Surprise Speaker”

As part of the Monster.com Social Media Street team, I wanted to the hit floor and find some interesting people to interview, so I grabbed the lovely and talented Laurie Ruettimann of Punk Rock HR to assist me in front of the camera.
As dutiful SHRM members, we proceeded to the official SHRM booth and standing there amongst a crowd of people was none other than Robb Van Cleave, Chairman of the SHRM Board of Directors.

After asking Robb to share some thoughts about the speaker lineup at the conference, she was able to pull out of him that there will be a “surprise speaker” on tomorrow’s opening session agenda who is a “very well known person from an extremely well known political family.”
